We are aware of the many other stem cell treatment programs available - all over the world.  Before deciding on Beike's program, we spent months researching all the possible treatment options as well as talking to and meeting patients of Beike's program.  We cannot endorse a program other than the Beike Biotech umbilical cord stem cell treatment, so if you are planning on using another program, please do not contact us for advice.

We get many emails each week from parents who are considering this treatment.  Here are the most common points I try to make with them all - these are important issues no matter which treatment program you decide on:

~ educate yourself on the differences between the various types of stem cells.  The differences are significant and will determine the risk level for treatment.

~ know what type of stem cells will be used for the treatments, where they come from, if they are screened for diseases, if they are fresh or frozen, and do they include a growth hormone

~ compare all aspects of a treatment program:

  1. cost versus number of injections
  2. method of injections (IV or spinal with or without sedation)
  3. emergency care in an urgent situation
  4. is it an outpatient or inpatient procedure
  5. medical documentation before treatment so you are comfortable that the doctors understand your childs complete medical situation before treating them
  6. follow-up care and documentation
  7. are other services included: such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, accupuncture, etc

~ research the doctors, company, hospital, clinic, and past patients.  Anyone can pretend to be someone they aren't, so do research, make phone calls, and try to meet a past patient.  Googling a name will bring up so much information that you need to check out.

~ understand how stem cells work and why it isn't an accepted practice in the US

~ we definitely understand the urge to get treatment as soon as possible.  Our best advise is to wait a couple months to investigate, research, ask questions, and really determine if the program is legit before committing to it.

~ We are not stem cell experts but we were one of the first in the USA to receive treatment for ONH using umbilical cord stem cells.  We have knowledge because we've been in your shoes.
